Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchirappalli, is offering Bachelor of Vocation in Apparel Made-Ups and Home Furnishing. B.Voc. Apparel Made-Ups and Home Furnishing was recognized in 2018 by the University Grants Commission under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) as a flagship programme of the Skill India Initiative.The scheme was introduced with the objective of producing skilled personnel in Apparel and Furnishing industries. The curriculum is designed according to the Sector Skill Council - Apparel Made-Ups and Home Furnishing. This programme comprises 4 levels. One of the salient features of this skill sector is designing the training programmes based on the demand from the different segments of the industry and to ensure that all successful trainees are certified through the accredited assessment agency.

  • A training programme on Fashion Designer was conducted from 07.01.2021 To 12.01.2021. Mr.J.Lawrance Sahaya Raj, Apparel Fashion Tailoring Training Centre, Manapparai was the resource person.
  • E-Quiz programme was organized from 23.07.2020 to 27.07.2020 on the topic General Awareness on Textiles and Fashion for the students.
  • A one day webinar was organized on 30.06.2020 on the topic Face Masks –Need of the Hour. Dr.S.Amsamani Professor, Department of Textile and Clothing, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science & Higher Education for Women,Coimbatore was the resource person.
  • Students were taken on industrial visits to NIFT-TEA Incubation Center, Tirupur and Warsaw International Pvt. Ltd, Tirupur to expand their practical knowledge through the factory visit programme on 13.03.2020.
  • A training programme on Pattern Making was conducted from 04.03.2020 to 08.03.2020. Mr.S.Yuvaraj, Designer, Style Mart, Thillai Nagar, Tiruchirappalli was the trainer.
  • A training programme on Garment Construction was conducted from 24.02.2020 to 28.02.2020 and the students were trained by Pramesh Kumar C, Assessor, STAMP, India and Mr. Akhil JK, Trainer, STAMP, India
  • A one day national seminar was organized on 14.02.2020 on the topic Fashion Trends in Textile Industry.
  • Students were taken on an industrial visit to Asian Fabric Private Limited, Karur on 31.01.2020, to expand their practical knowledge through the factory visit programme
  • A one day workshop on Garment Styles & Pattern Making was conducted on 27.01.2020. Mr.Yuvaraj, Designer, Stylemart, Thillai Nagar, Tiruchirappalli was the resource person.
  • Students were taken on an Industrial visit to Sundar Sons (India) Pvt. Limited, Salem, on 13.12.2019.
  • A one day workshop on Pattern Styles & Designing was conducted on 06.11.2019. Ms.S.Jeevitha, Designer, Juvi Designs, Thuraiyur was the resource person.
  • A Hands on Training programme on working with computerized Sewing Machine was conducted on 17.07.2019. The training was given by Mr.Sundara Moorthy, Dealer, Singer India (Pvt.) Ltd, Trichy.
