National Cadet Corps

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development organization, with an enormous potential for nation building. The NCC provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of duty, commitment, dedication, discipline and moral values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens. The NCC provides exposure to the cadets in a wide range of activities, with a distinct emphasis on social services, discipline and adventure training.

The NCC Army wing was introduced in Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College in the year 1957. NCC Rifles was inaugurated in 1961. NCC Air wing was introduced in the year 2000. The cadets of SRC attend national and regional camps regularly and bring laurels to the institution.It is a pride that SRC has the highest enrolled strength of 262 cadets in Tamil Nadu from Army and Air wing.

NCC Air Wing (National Cadet Corps) is a youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces aiming to empower the younger generation better. NCC Air wing in the Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College comes under 3 (TN) Air Squadron (TECH) NCC, Tiruchirappalli. NCC Air wing was introduced in the year 2000 as attached vacancy. In the year 2020, Attached vacancy of Air wing was withdrawn and in the year 2021 an exclusive Air wing was raised and are executed with the strength of 50 cadets. The cadets of SRC attend national and regional camps regularly with great enthusiasm and passion and bring accolades to the institution. In addition to regular activities, Social services are being conducted to ameliorate the process of grooming up of the emerging IAF Officers.

She won the Sharma Cup and the Commandant’s Certificate of Excellence for standing first among both senior and junior wing trainees and for being the Best in Academics. She bagged Commandant’s Gold medal and Certificate of Excellence for Standing First in Order of Merit among Senior Wing. She won Gold medal for Best Firer and Silver medal in tug of war competition and bagged certificate of Merit for Excellence in Camp Planning, Lecture IP and Cultural Activities
